Blackpool captain Charlie Adam is a major doubt for Monday's game.

The midfielder required stitches after being caught on the ankle by Nikola Zigic in the defeat at Birmingham.

West Brom duo Marc-Antoine Fortune and Jonas Olsson are in contention after scans revealed the injuries they picked up last weekend are not serious.

Peter Odemwingie is doubtful with a knee problem, while the club will also assess James Morrison, who picked up knock in training.

    Blackpool

    Doubtful: Adam (ankle)

Injured: Almond (shoulder), Baptiste, Clarke, Martin & Rachubka (all knee)

    West Brom

Doubtful: Fortune (ankle), Morrison (unspecified), Odemwingie (knee), Olsson (Achilles)

    MATCH PREVIEW

Both these sides have defied expectation following promotion to the top flight, but while Blackpool's momentum has faltered in recent weeks, in-form West Brom go from strength to strength.

The lads are flying at the moment and there is a real aura around the club. We feel like we're unbeatable

    West Brom striker Simon Cox

Victory against Fulham last weekend saw the Baggies move into a Champions League spot, albeit only for 24 hours. Confidence is high at the Hawthorns right now, while competition for places is fierce, with last season's star performer Graham Dorrans unable to break into the starting XI.

Roberto Di Matteo made 11 changes for Tuesday's Carling Cup tie at Leicester but the Baggies' back-ups cruised to a 4-1 win.

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway shouldered the blame after last week's defeat at Birmingham, admitting he was outwitted by opposite number Alex McLeish. Those comments deflected attention from Charlie Adam's error, which gifted Blues their second goal. Adam is currently in dispute with the club over bonus payments. A Premier League hearing is expected to resolve the row before next weekend's game against Everton.

The Tangerines have now lost four of their last five games, and are still waiting for their first home win in the Premier League. The last time Bloomfield Road toasted a top-flight victory was on 26 April 1971, when the Seasiders beat Crystal Palace 3-1.
