By Keir Murray

Re. the music on Glenn Loovens' iPod? "You've lost that Looven feeling. Perhaps?" From Dave Moss by text to 80295.

1245: "Celtic are now in a very strong position and St Johnstone, as they did in midweek, are making a big contribution to Celtic's advantage. The visitors are cruising." BBC Scotland commentator Rob Maclean

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
A disaster for Steven Milne. The Saints defender makes a suicidal pass to his goalkeeper in a congested penalty box and Emilio Izaguirre nicks in to stab the ball past Graeme Smith.

GOAL! St Johnstone 0-2 Celtic (Izaguirre)

1243: Ha! Nice one, Stu in Ayr by text to 80295. "Re 1232. Is Loovens perhaps listening to Return to Sender and we can ship him back to Cardiff City? Mon the hoops!"

1240: Peter 'Peaso' MacDonald gets on the end of a looping cross from the right but cannot get any power on it to trouble the Celtic goal.

1236: Saints are alive! Marcus Haber makes a run down the left but his shot or cross is blunted by the hefty leg of Daniel Majstorovic.

1235: Saints have failed to show much by way of attacking threat so far. The Galloping Greek Georgios Samaras broke into a canter for the first time in the game.

1232: Celtic defender Glenn Loovens is sitting in the stand at McDiarmid Park listening to his iPod. Wonder what's his chosen track after he was dropped? Don't Look Back In Anger by Oasis?

My Sport
JodyMorris4England on My Sport "McInnes will be so disappointed with that start. After the way Wednesday's match panned out all he will have been asking for was the team to be alert defensively for the first 20 minutes. They were anything but for that goal."

1228: An anonymous text to 80295 with an explanation for McGinn's booking: "McGinn didn't just run behind the goal! He grabbed some of the crowd, some more of whom then came over the stand to pitchside. We know the rules, automatic booking. No probs! Come on Celtic!"

1226: Anthony Stokes must have seen more of the ball in the first 22 minutes of this match than in the entire 90 minutes of previous games this season.

1224: "A super ball from Mark Wilson and if Stokes finds the target with his header then it's in the net." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Murdo MacLeod

1223: "Derek McInnes was chasing the linesman there because he felt McGinn was offside. He's now having a chat with the Celtic backroom staff!" BBC Radio Scotland pundit Murdo MacLeod

1223: Celtic's Mark Wilson cuts inside from the right wing and clips a ball into the box for Anthony Stokes to head, but his effort goes wide.

1222: Jennison Myrie-Williams and Emilio Izaguirre renew their rivalry, the pair having tested one another fully in the midweek Co-operative Insurance Cup match. Celtic's Honduran left-back looked happy to be subbed at the end of that match.

1219: Niall McGinn was booked for running behind the goal to celebrate his strike for Celtic. We can't be having displays of emotion now, can we? Dear, dear.

1216: "Derek McInnes will be angry at conceding that early goal, but his side just keep giving the ball away." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Murdo MacLeod

1215: Ah, dear. Saints' Michael Duberry tries a Charlie Adam-like (OK, maybe not) 60 yard crossfield free-kick...but it flies out the pitch.

1213: As always, it's great to hear your thoughts on the match, whether it's by text to 80295 or on My Sport. It all adds to the heady mixture of Saturday soccer fun.

Someone has struck the woodwork
1211: It's one-way traffic at the moment. Three men in blue go to Anthony Stokes on the edge of the box on the right wing and he produces a lovely back-heel through to Ki Sung-Yeung who cracks a low shot across the goal and off the post.

1209: "The Celtic supporters are delighted with the start their side have made to this game. St Johnstone are having questions asked of them here." BBC Scotland commentator Rob Maclean

1208: There was an early pitch inspection at McDiarmid Park today but it looks in good condition, though maybe a bit soft in one goalmouth where the autumn sun cannot get to work its wonders.

1206: "Quite incredible, a similar to the start of the Co-op Cup game here at McDiarmid Park in midweek!" BBC Radio Scotland pundit Murdo McLeod

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
Ki fires a low free-kick across the Saints box and Anthony Stokes thumps a low shot at goal, which is parried brilliantly by Graeme Smith. Niall McGinn is fastest to react and he nips in to open the scoring after 68 seconds.

GOAL! St Johnstone 0-1 Celtic (McGinn)

1204: This is the hundredth meeting between the sides.

1202: And the match is under way.

1200: Forster, Wilson, Majstorovic, Rogne, Izaguirre, McGinn, Ledley, Ki, Du-Ri, Samaras, Stokes. Subs: Zaluska, Juarez, Hooiveld, Cha, Crosas, McCourt, Towell.

1159: So the St Johnstone team is: Smith, Maybury, MacKay, Duberry, Grainger, Myrie-Williams, Millar, Haber, Craig, Milne, MacDonald. Subs: Enckelman, Rutkiewicz, Parkin, Samuel, Jackson, May, Caddis..

1157: Uh-oh. Celtic's Shaun Maloney is unwell and will not play after all. Cha Du-Ri will start instead.

1151: Jennison Myrie-Williams earns a start for St Johnstone in place of the injured Murray Davidson in midfield. Marcus Haber, Peter MacDonald and Steven Milne come in for Collin Samuel, Sam Parkin and Andy Jackson as manager Derek McInnes adds three fresh forwards to his line-up.

1150: Shaun Maloney returns to midfield after missing out in the Co-operative Insurance Cup tie between the sides with a black eye suffered in last weekend's defeat by Rangers, with striker Gary Hooper missing through injury.

1146: Glen Loovens and Cha Du-Ri are the men to pay for recent defensive lapses highlighted by Celtic manager Neil Lennon and are replaced in the starting line-up with Thomas Rogne and Mark Wilson.

1140: Welcome to the live text commentary following all the action in the Scottish Premier League. We start with Celtic's return to Perth to play St Johnstone after their 3-2 win at McDiarmid Park on Wednesday in the quarter-final of the Co-operative Insurance Cup.
