Defender Ibanez upends DJ Campbell inside the box

West Brom have won their appeal against defender Pablo Ibanez's red card in the 2-1 defeat by Blackpool on Monday, the Football Association has confirmed.

The Spaniard was dismissed by referee Michael Oliver for a professional foul on DJ Campbell, leading to a penalty from which Charlie Adam made it 1-0.

But the Baggies appealed, saying they had covering defenders who would have denied Campbell the chance to score.

Ibanez will not now miss the visit of Manchester City on Sunday.

The Baggies were reduced to nine men before the half-hour mark when Gonzalo Jara was sent off for a two-footed lunge on Luke Varney.

And Varney made it 2-0 in the second half before Youssouf Mulumbu curled in a consolation goal for the visitors.
