Andy Murray will begin the final phase of his 2010 season when he takes on Feliciano Lopez in the first round of the Valencia Open on Tuesday.

The Briton will meet Spaniard Lopez at around 1400 GMT as he begins the defence of his title in Valencia.

He will also play doubles with his brother Jamie in Valencia.

Murray, the world number four, is returning to action for the first time since beating Roger Federer to win the Shanghai Masters last month.

Sweden's Robin Soderling is the second seed in Valencia, with Fernando Verdasco, David Ferrer, Mikhail Youzhny and Nikolay Davydenko among a strong field.
