Opener Andrew Strauss again misses out for the seven-match series, which starts at the Rose Bowl on 21 August. Flintoff, who last played for England at the 50-over World Cup, is also in the squad for the inaugural ICC World Twenty20 tournament in September. "We will continue to monitor Andrew's rehabilitation from his ankle injury closely in the run-up to the tournament against India," said chairman of selectors David Graveney. "India will be tough opponents in the 50-over game and the challenge for the team will be to demonstrate greater consistency in performance as we continue to build towards the next World Cup in 2011." England one-day squad for the seven-match NatWest Series against India: PD Collingwood (Durham, captain), JM Anderson (Lancashire), IR Bell (Warwickshire), RS Bopara (Essex), SCJ Broad (Leicestershire), AN Cook (Essex), A Flintoff (Lancashire), AD Mascarenhas (Hampshire), MS Panesar (Northamptonshire), KP Pietersen (Hampshire), MJ Prior (Sussex), OA Shah (Middlesex), RJ Sidebottom (Nottinghamshire), CT Tremlett (Hampshire).
