Swann misses final one-day game

FIFTH ONE-DAY INTERNATIONAL, Colombo:
Sri Lanka v England

Match starts at 1000 BST on Saturday

Graeme Swann will miss England's final one-day match against Sri Lanka on Saturday after tearing a hamstring.

The off-spinner, 28, has been in fine form with ball and bat since being recalled after a seven-year absence.

Swann has taken seven wickets in four games, made 83 runs and held four catches to help clinch England's first limited-overs series win in Sri Lanka.

His form has kept out Monty Panesar but the slow left-armer is now likely to come in for the finale in Colombo.

Nottinghamshire player Swann was man of the match in the third one-day international in Dambulla, taking 4-34 and scoring a vital 25 runs.

He is expected to be sidelined for two weeks but England believe he should be available for selection for the Test series, which begins on 1 December.

Swann played once for England in South Africa in 2000 but fell out with coach Duncan Fletcher and was never chosen again under the Zimbabwean's regime.
