Lawro's predictions

HOW DID LAWRO DO LAST TIME?

Lawro got SEVEN results right and THREE perfect scores.

THIS WEEK'S PREDICTIONS

(Kick-offs 1500 GMT unless stated)

SATURDAY

Chelsea v West Ham (1245)

This should be a fiery London derby but Chelsea are going well.

As good as Carlton Cole has been for West Ham alone upfront, he needs some help, so I'm predicting a home win.

Prediction: 2-0

Blackburn v Newcastle

The 4-0 defeat to Aston Villa during the week was a shock result for Blackburn but Newcastle are all over the place at the moment.

I couldn't believe Newcastle's performance against Liverpool last week - they just didn't play at all - so I'm going for a home victory.

Prediction: 2-0

Portsmouth v Everton

This should be a good game - both teams are performing really well.

Portsmouth are big, strong and difficult at home but I'll go for one each here as Everton have had a really good run of late.

Prediction: 1-1

Reading v Middlesbrough

I have to go for Reading at home - they're very good at dispatching the teams they know they should beat.

And Middlesbrough certainly come into that category at the moment.

Prediction: 2-1

Sunderland v Derby

This is a big game for both sides. You will have heard of a six-pointer - this is a 12-pointer.

But, even though Paul Jewell has just taken over at Derby, I'm going to go for a Sunderland home win.

Prediction: 2-0

Wigan v Man City

I'm going for a shock result here - a home win for Wigan.

It's Steve Bruce's first game at home in charge, while Man City are not particularly good on the road - City have been great at home but they've only got five away points.

Prediction: 2-1

Aston Villa v Arsenal (1715)

Both teams are in great form at the moment, so let's go for a draw.

Villa have sneaked up into sixth place without anyone knowing and Arsenal rested players midweek against Sevilla, so manager Arsene Wenger will have his big guns back for this tie.

Prediction: 1-1

SUNDAY

Liverpool v Bolton

As good as the revival is under Gary Megson, I think beating Manchester United at home last weekend will have taken a lot out of Bolton.

Liverpool are still unbeaten in the league, so they should take this.

Prediction: 2-0

Tottenham v Birmingham (1600)

It's quite a difficult first game for new Birmingham manager Alex McLeish as I think Tottenham, under Juande Ramos, are slowly improving.

I'm sure McLeish will be a good manager for them but I don't think they'll get anything from White Hart Lane.

Prediction: 2-0

MONDAY

Man Utd v Fulham (2000)

Even when Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson tinkers with his team, there are always plenty of match-winners in the side.

I think it will just be too much for Fulham to cope with

Prediction: 3-0
