Norwich City assistant boss Lee Clark is set to become the new manager at Huddersfield Town.
The 36-year-old former Newcastle United midfielder is at an advanced stage of talks with the Terriers after they made a formal approach for his services.
"We would expect compensation for a man of Lee's experience and potential and that has been agreed," Canaries boss Glenn Roeder told the club website.
The role has been vacant since Stan Ternent was sacked in early November.
Clark joined the backroom staff at Carrow Road shortly after Roeder took charge in November 2007.

Reports that he was on Huddersfield's shortlist first emerged last week and were denied at the time by Roeder.
"At the time those stories appeared there was no truth in the speculation at all," the Norwich boss said.
"In the last few days however, Huddersfield have formally asked for permission to speak to Lee, which after chatting to him and to the Board, we agreed to do.
"I always knew from day one when I first appointed Lee as reserve team coach at Newcastle how ambitious he was to become a manager one day, probably sooner rather than later.

"At that stage he was just completing his A licence and today he's just about to complete his pro-licence, which he's been doing with the Northern Ireland FA.
"I just want to say I truly hope Lee goes on to fulfil his ultimate ambition by one day managing Newcastle United, any Geordie's dream."
Huddersfield Town chairman-elect Dean Hoyle told the club website: "We approached Norwich City for permission to talk to Lee Clark yesterday about becoming our new manager and they allowed it.

"An undisclosed compensation package has been agreed between the two clubs and we are now at an advanced stage of negotiations with Lee."
Should personal terms be agreed, Clark could be confirmed as the new Huddersfield manager before the weekend.
Caretaker manager Gerry Murphy is still expected to take charge of Town in their match at Southend on Saturday.
