Rangers have played down suggestions that goalkeeper Allan McGregor has a major knee problem.
The Glasgow club were responding to quotes attributed to Scotland manager George Burley in a Monday newspaper.
Rangers say McGregor has had a slight swelling in his knee but is fit to carry on playing for the club.
And they stress that the goalkeeper, who missed the end of last season after a knee operation, is not in need of surgery or intense medical attention.
McGregor has struggled to regain the form that led to him vying with Craig Gordon for the Scotland jersey last season.
He was dropped after an uncertain start to the present campaign but has since regained his place from Neil Alexander.
With Gordon missing through injury, McGregor was in goal for Scotland during this month's 1-0 friendly defeat by Argentina.
