Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has asked the Football Association to look at video evidence and review the red card given to Frank Lampard on Sunday.
Lampard was sent off by referee Mike Riley for a foul on Xabi Alonso in the 2-0 defeat by Liverpool at Anfield.
"I do not want to criticise the referee, all I ask is that he looks at the video with the FA," said Scolari.
"If they agree that Lampard did not commit a foul for his red card, maybe they will change the decision."

But the England midfielder's challenge was high and his studs were showing.
Scolari does, however, acknowledge that defender Jose Bosingwa could face punishment by the FA after he stamped on the back of Liverpool midfielder Yossi Benayoun and pushed him to the ground.
The incident went unpunished by Riley, but if he acknowledges in his post-match report that he missed the offence Bosingwa could face retrospective action.
"What Bosingwa did was not correct, he made a mistake," said Scolari.

Scolari felt the red card changed the game and swung the momentum in Liverpool's favour, resulting in Fernando Torres' late winner and subsequent second.
The result leaves Chelsea five points behind leaders Manchester United having also played a game more.
"Liverpool had more possession overall, but once Frank Lampard was sent off they had more chances and got into our box much more," said Scolari.
"When he was sent off it changed the game for us one million percent. We lost the middle and did not have the ball.
"They created more chances and had more possession. And they were able to score the goals after that decision."
