Rafael Nadal continued his quest for a fifth successive Barcelona Open title with a 6-2 6-0 victory over unseeded Christophe Rochus in round three.
The flamboyant left-hander broke in the third game with a cross-court forehand.
And he cruised through the second with some exquisitely precise strokes to win in under an hour and set up a meeting with seventh seed David Nalbandian.
Nalbandian beat Nicolas Almagro 6-3 6-4 while eighth seed Stanislas Wawrinka lost 6-4 1-6 7-5 to Radek Stepanek.
