Football's ruling body, Fifa, is set to select which Brazilian cities will host matches at the 2014 World Cup finals.
Twelve host cities will be chosen from a list of 17 candidates.
Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Porto Alegre, Sao Paolo and Rio de Janeiro, where the final will be held in the Maracana Stadium, have all been seeded.
Belem, Campo Grande, Cuiaba, Curitiba, Florianopolis, Fortaleza, Goiania, Rio Branco, Manaus, Natal, Recife-Olinda and Salvador are the other candidates.
Fifa, which is holding its annual Congress in the Bahamas, has agreed to increase the number of host cities from 10 to 12 because of the size of Brazil and inspection teams have already visited all 17 cities.
All the stadiums would be required to hold at least 40,000 spectators with the final to be staged in the famous Maracana Stadium which was refurbished in 2006 and reopened in January 2007 with an all-seated capacity of 88,992.
Ricardo Teixeira, president of CBF (the Brazilian Football Confederation) will brief Fifa members about all 17 candidate cities.
One region competing for World Cup venue status is the Amazon basin where three cities - Manaus, Rio Branco and Belem - are effectively fighting for one spot.
Another is the Pantanal zone - an area of outstanding natural beauty and resource - where there is intense competition between Campo Grande and Cuiabá.
The Campo Grande bid is one based on the idea of a totally green and sustainable World Cup with the stadium located inside a public university and close to large population areas in Argentina, Bolivia and Paraguay.
Supporters say they would create a large new forest area called Football Fans of the World - 2014 which would see every visitor from outside Campo Grande plant a tree with their own hands and be granted the free use of bicycles in the city.
Fifa is expected to announce its decision late on Sunday.
