 Oscar Pistorius fought a long battle to compete in the Olympic Games

South Africa's paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorius, known as "blade runner", is set to appear at the Pretoria Magistrates court charged with assault.
Police said Mr Pistorius slammed the door on a 19-year-old woman's leg when she tried to re-enter his house after he had kicked her out after a party.
She had been ordered to leave when she began arguing with her partner at the party on Saturday night.
Sergeant Miranda Stoltz said he was held overnight in a police cell.
Sergeant Stoltz told the BBC that a couple at the gathering began "screaming at each other" and Mr Pistorius told the pair to leave his home and argue outside.
The woman's partner later returned to the house but as his girlfriend tried to re-enter the house, Mr Pistorius allegedly slammed the door, injuring her leg.
Mr Pistorius, who had both legs removed between the knee and ankle as a baby, is nicknamed "blade runner" because of the prosthetic legs that enable him to sprint.
He won a long legal battle to be allowed to compete in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games but then failed to qualify for the South African team.
He won three gold medals at the Paralympics.
