Ian Poulter took a five-shot lead at the rain-affected Singapore Open as he resumed to card a flawless seven-under second-round 64 to move to 12-under.
Overnight leader Daniel Chopra is tied for second with Taiwanese Chan Yih-shin on seven under, one clear of a group of six, including South African Ernie Els.
Poulter's start on Friday had seen him move to seven-under before bad light forced him in after just three holes.
But he birdied three of the next five holes on Saturday as he surged clear.
Poulter had taken a six-week break prior to this week's event which is co-sanctioned by the European and Asian tours and the rest seems to have rejuvenated the world number 21.
"I am a little surprised to be playing well after the break. Six weeks off, you never know how you are going to play," Poulter said.
"As much practice as I put in prior to coming here, I had barely played a round of golf. I enjoyed the range work and resting up after that and it has served me well in the last couple of days."
The 33-year-old, who is in a strong position to record his first European Tour victory since winning the Madrid Open in September 2006, added: "Hopefully, there's some better golf to come from me.

"It sounds silly with a five-shot lead, but my game is not quite there. I am feeling my way into a week so it should get better and there will be more good scores to come."
The cut was made at one-over par, meaning big names Geoff Ogilvy of Australia and Korea's K.J. Choi, both on two-over, failed to qualify for the final two rounds.
But American world number two Phil Mickelson, England's Justin Rose, Ireand's Padraig Harrington and two-time former champion Adam Scott will all be around for the remainder of the tournament.
Chopra, who had held the lead overnight, was one of only 61 players to complete their second rounds after another frustrating stop-start day.
Having registered six birdies in a bogey-free round Chopra said: "I started off a little edgy with the delays, but I came out more relaxed.
"I'm still trying to get used to the speed of the greens as they are slower than I'm used to."
Australian Andrew Dodt and China's Liang Wen-chong scored 68 in their second rounds, while Madrid Masters champion Ross McGowan was four under after another 69.
Thailand's Chapchai Nirat had also fired a hole-in-one on his penultimate hole of the day to card a 67 to move to two under.
