Tindall is now a doubt for England's autumn internationals
|
England coach Martin Johnson has been given another injury worry after Mike Tindall limped out of Gloucester's 28-23 Premiership defeat at Sale.
Tindall departed after just 16 minutes with a hamstring injury, a week before England take on Australia.
He missed his side's last three matches with the problem but was released from the England squad to prove his fitness.
The 31-year-old pulled up after attempting to chase his own kick and looked in distress as he left the fray.
It makes the centre a huge doubt for England's opening autumn Test against Australia at Twickenham next Saturday.
"It's a recurrence of his hamstring, but not exactly in the same place," said Gloucester coach Bryan Redpath.
"He trained all week and looked great and makes a difference to us when he is here, but sadly he's aggravated the injury.
"Hopefully it's not too serious and he can get himself back on the pitch pretty quickly.

"I wouldn't know right know when that will be.
"He was only going to play 40 minutes tonight and it's hard to take because he has a massive influence on everyone at this club."
Tindall looks set to join the long list of England absentees which includes Phil Vickery, Lee Mears, Andrew Sheridan, Julian White, Nick Easter, Delon Armitage, Harry Ellis, Toby Flood, Riki Flutey, Olly Morgan, Tom Rees and Simon Shaw.
