Rosenborg coach Erik Hamren has agreed to take over the Sweden national side.

The 52-year-old will also continue to be in charge at Rosenborg until August 2010, when he will take full-time control of the Swedish team.

Last week, the Swedish FA had said he would not take the job due to talks with Rosenborg breaking down.

Hamren, whose contract runs until 2013, replaces Lars Lagerback, who resigned last month after Sweden failed to qualify for the 2010 World Cup.

Notts County director of football Sven-Goran Eriksson and Fulham manager Roy Hodgson had both been linked with the post, but ruled themselves out of contention.
