Kyle Eastmond has ended speculation over his future by signing a new two-year deal with St Helens.
The England half-back, 20, broke into Saints' first team last season and is likely to be a regular starter next year after Sean Long's move to Hull.
"He's been with us for a few years. We know he has a big future in the game," said chief executive Tony Colquitt.
"Along with his end of season for us he was great in the Four Nations. We look forward to him developing with us."
Eastmond had one year left on his existing contract but had been linked with several other teams and also a move to rugby union after he scored 129 points in 17 appearances for Saints this year, as well as winning England honours.

"I am delighted to secure a two-year contract with the club," he said.
"Now my future is sorted I am looking forward to pre-season and having a good year with the Saints."
Eastmond scored all of Saints' points in their 18-10 Grand Final loss to Leeds at Old Trafford in October, and speaking at the end of the Super League season, he admitted he was amazed by the speed of his progress.
"It's been a great year for me - one I didn't expect," he added.
"To me, St Helens are the best club are in the Super League - why wouldn't you want to play for them?"
Eastmond is one of the most highly rated young talents in the sport, with former Great Britain and Wigan great Jason Robinson - with whom he has been compared - warmly praising his potential.
"He's been likened to myself but in many ways I wasn't as talented as him at his age, with his ball-handling skills and his kicking," said Robinson.
