Sussex all-rounder Luke Wright has agreed a new three-year contract which will keep him at Hove until the end of the 2012 season.
Wright, currently on tour with England in South Africa, said: "The contract extension is exciting for me.
"I want to be a big part of a bright future for the club."
The 24-year-old England one-day all-rounder scored 637 first-class runs in 2009 at an average of 49, scoring three centuries, twice taking five wickets.
Wright, who has already played 28 one-day games for England, is now close to a first Test appearance after being included in the current 16-man squad for the tour to South Africa.
"I love playing for Sussex. The county have been great in helping me achieve my goal of playing for England," he said. "I look forward to winning more trophies in years to come."
Sussex cricket manager Mark Robinson said: "Luke is one of the most exciting young players in the country. We're delighted that he has committed to the club for the immediate future."
