Former Scotland captain Jason White

Scotland flanker Jason White will miss this year's Six Nations after suffering a double fracture of his left leg.

White fractured his tibia training with French club Clermont on Friday and underwent an operation on Saturday.

The 31-year-old former Scotland captain has been capped 69 times and coach Andy Robinson brought him on as a substitute in all three Autumn tests in 2009.

White began at Glasgow before moving to Sale Sharks and joined Clermont in France's Top 14 league last year.
