Why a Mesh Cover?
So what about a mesh pool cover? For most people their first reaction to the concept of a cover that is made entirely of fine mesh, is âwhats the pointâ? After all, isn't the purpose of installing a pool cover in the first place to keep âeverythingâ out.
Leaves + Rain Equals a Mess
The simple answer to that is of course it is, but sometimes pool covers can simply do âtoo good a jobâ. Add some rain into the equation and things can become a real problem. You see, nothing has changed when it comes to removing a pool cover. It still can be a very messy manual job.

So now you may be seeing the benefit of a mesh pool cover that holds all the leaves but allows any rain water to pass though into your pool. In high rain climates and high leaf yards this type of pool cover is a life saver. So what about the minor amount of mostly particulate debris that passes through.
Skimmer Screens for Above Ground Pools
As it turns out that what they make a pool Skimmer screen for. So yes in above ground pools that have mesh covers there will be some occasional screen work to do. However in the balance this clean and straightforward task is a cinch compared to having to deal with a huge mass of rotten goop sitting on top of your pool.
