Stoke City stretched their unbeaten run to five matches following a tedious draw against Sunderland.
Dean Whitehead missed a glorious chance to put the visitors in front in the third minute after Tuncay's flick, but his shot was saved by Craig Gordon.
Early in the second half saw Kenwyne Jones clear a goalmouth scramble with Mamady Sibide poised to pounce.
Fraizer Campbell missed the hosts' best chance when he missed Boudewijn Zenden's cross in the 77th minute.
Although the draw ended Sunderland's three-match losing run, manager Steve Bruce will be less than impressed by the lack of invention and creation from his players on home soil.
Strikers Darren Bent and Jones were given little service from a midfield outwitted by yet another stubborn performance from a well-drilled Stoke side who were boosted by the return of defender Abdoulaye Faye and midfielder Salif Diao.
And it was the visitors who missed the best opportunity of the match within three minutes of kick-off, courtesy of a moment of genius from Turkey international Tuncay.
The striker's subtle back-heel flick cleared the way for Whitehead to charge into the box unmarked.

But the former Black Cat opted for placement rather than power, allowing goalkeeper Gordon to parry his right-footed shot to safety, much to the midfielder's disbelief.
A feisty first half ensued as both team create openings, but nothing more to trouble either goalkeeper.
Midfielder Steed Malbranque eventually forced Thomas Sorensen into a good low save when, following a Andy Reid cross, Bent's neat dummy allowed the Frenchman to shoot from 16 yards.
The palpable tension spilled over in the 38th minute when Whitehead directed a cynical kick to the back of Lee Cattermole's legs following a crunching - but fair - challenge.
After a stern lecture from referee Howard Webb, Whitehead was eventually shown a yellow card, much to the chagrin of the home supporters.
Cattermole earned himself a yellow card and a frank exchange of pleasantries soon after, with an ill-timed tackle on Whitehead on the cusp of half-time.
The stagnant crowd burst into life when a desperate goalmouth scramble from Glenn Whelan's free-kick saw Jones clear Danny Higginbotham's cutback with Sidibe and Diao set to pounce in the 48th minute.
Things livened up once more when Stoke defender Robert Huth appeared to handle the ball as Bent looked to accelerate into the box, but referee Webb waved play to continue despite the protest of Sunderland players.
With his goal-scoring options rapidly diminishing, Bruce introduced Campbell and Zenden to reignite Sunderland's hopes of victory.
And the pair almost combined 13 minutes from time, but Campbell completely miscued Zenden's excellent right-wing cross, allowing Stoke's defenders to clear to safety.
