Beleaguered Portsmouth have suffered a double injury blow with Hermann Hreidarsson and Danny Webber ruled out for at least six months.

Iceland defender Hreidarsson suffered a ruptured Achilles injury in the 2-0 defeat by Tottenham on Saturday.

And striker Webber has been sidelined with a torn anterior cruciate ligament sustained in the same match.

Boss Avram Grant said he is running out of fit players ahead of Pompey's FA Cup semi-final against Spurs on 11 April.

The Israeli could only field six substitutes at White Hart Lane, three of whom had never played in the Premier League.

Goalkeeper David James was replaced by Jamie Ashdown in the closing stages as Portsmouth finished the match with 10 men, although the England international is hoping to be fit for the semi-final clash at Wembley next weekend.

Jamie O'Hara is also unlikely to be available for the cup tie under the terms of his loan deal from Spurs, while Aruna Dindane is unavailable because another appearance will trigger a payment to Lens which the cash-strapped club simply cannot afford.

And Marc Wilson, Nadir Belhadj, Papa Bouba Diop, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Tal Ben-Haim and Hassan Yebda are all doubtful for the lucrative match.

Webber is set to see a specialist next week before surgery while Hreidarsson will will go under the knife in London next week.

And it could even be career-ending for Hreidarsson, 35, who was an FA Cup winner with Pompey in 2008 and has made 77 appearances for the club since he joined on a free transfer from Charlton in May 2007.

Portsmouth's head physio Gary Sadler told his club's official website: "Hermann's Achilles just went, while Danny went to move and felt his knee shift. It's devastating for both of them."
