1946: Curses. Daniel van Buyten (least I got the 'van' right) commits the first foul, coming through the back of Lisandro on the halfway line.

1945: Lyon get us under way. I'm betting (metaphorically, of course) that Mark van Bommel is the first man to commit a foul.

1942: The Stade Gerland is absolutely rocking as the teams emerge from the tunnel. Lyon dangerman Lisandro Lopez looks a bit emotional as the Champions League anthem plays, and he is hugging his mascot for comfort. I know how he feels. What a tune.

1938: Speaking of tomorrow's biggie between Barcelona and Inter Milan. Jose Mourinho held his pre-match press conference this afternoon, and as ever, it was a cracker. He reckons Barcelona are "obsessed" with getting to the final because it's at the Bernabeu. "What I want to say to my players is to follow the dream, not make it an obsession, because for us this is a dream and not an obsession - for Barcelona it's not a dream, it's an obsession."

From LiamDD on Twitter: "This game is irrelevant anyway. Whoever wins between Barcelona and Inter will take the trophy."
Oh...

From HibaMS on Twitter: "Doesn't the Lyon goalkeeper look cute in the picture on the front page of the BBC Sport website?"
I frown on such shallowness. (But yes... yes he does)

From Bryan, using L'Equipe website as French revision, via text: "This is Lyon's season, it's huge and one look at L'Equipe will show you how much it means. They won't sit back. Lyon to go through."

From Bendtner's finishing touch on 606: "This game wont be as boring as the first leg since Lyon have to go for a win. I certainly hope Lyon don't make it through. Bayern are a more entertaining side to watch."

Football League Danny: "Just the two matches in League Two tonight - but plenty at stake. Rock-bottom Darlington host promoted Notts County, with the Magpies knowing a win will secure the title. Elsewhere, Barnet are at Accrington Stanley - a win for the struggling Bees will secure their survival and will effectively relegate Grimsby (barring some kind of mathematical craziness)."

1920: That last 'tweet' is absolutely true. If Lyon win the Champions League, Rangers will have to go through two qualifying rounds instead of going into the group stage because Lyon have not qualified for the group stage via their position in Ligue 1. Make sense?

From Noelinho on Twitter: "I'm going for Bayern, as that gives Rangers an automatic spot in the Champions League next year."

1916: The last time I saw Holger Badstuber play, he was being turned inside-out by Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia, so I'm interested to see how he plays at centre-back. Incidentally, is it just me who can't say Badstuber without singing it to the tune of Goldfinger? Just me?

From jimbohammers on 606: "Lyon are very strong at home, I can see them winning but not progressing to the final. My prediction: Lyon 2-1 Bayern."

From cyberryan87 on Twitter: "Bayern will go through Caroline. Lyon looked impotent in Munich and it would be terrible if they made it to the Bernabeu."

1908: TEAM NEWS
Lyon welcome Jean-Alain Boumsong back into their defence as a replacement for the banned Jeremy Toulalan and there are three more changes from the first leg as Michel Bastos, Jean Makoun and Sidney Govou all start. Bayern Munich defender Martin Demichelis is only fit enough for the bench so Holger Badstuber plays at centre-back and Diego Contento continues at left-back. Meanwhile, captain Mark van Bommel and Hamit Altintop are included for a side missing the suspended Franck Ribery.

1907: TEAMS Lyon v Bayern Munich
Lyon: Lloris, Reveillere, Cris, Boumsong, Cissokho, Gonalons, Makoun, Govou, Delgado, Michel Bastos, Lopez. Subs: Vercoutre, Kallstrom, Pjanic, Ederson, Gomis, Anderson, Gassama.
Bayern Munich: Butt, Lahm, Van Buyten, Badstuber, Contento, Robben, Schweinsteiger, Van Bommel, Altintop, Muller, Olic. Subs: Rensing, Demichelis, Gorlitz, Klose, Alaba, Gomez.
Referee: Massimo Busacca (Switzerland)

1903: And against Lyon, Van Gaal's side face a team unbeaten at home in this season's Champions League, and who have won their last three at the Stade Gerland.

1900: Hello to you. Bayern Munich only need a goalless draw to reach their first Champions League final since 2001, but as Louis van Gaal noted: "We don't have a team to play for a goalless draw." And he's their manager, so he should know really.
