England and Nottinghamshire cricketer Graeme Swann has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.
The off-spinner was stopped as he returned to his home in West Bridgford, Nottingham, near a police station, early on Friday.
The 31-year-old had reportedly been out celebrating his birthday, which was last week, before his arrest.
Swann is currently ranked the third best bowler in the world and has just returned from a tour of Bangladesh.
A spokeswoman for Nottinghamshire Police said: "A 31-year-old man was arrested on Byron Road, West Bridgford, at 3.23am on Friday, 2 April on suspicion of drink-driving."
Test debut
The right-arm bowler was stopped just yards from a police station and a mile from his home.
He was arrested following a breath-test and has since been released on bail.
Swann joined Nottinghamshire Cricket Club from his native Northamptonshire in 2005.
He made his Test debut against India in December 2008 and dismissed Gautam Gambhir and Rahul Dravid in his first over, becoming the second Englishman to achieve the feat.
In December 2009, he became the first English spinner to take 50 Test wickets in a calendar year.
He reached the landmark in 13 Tests, one Test fewer than Shane Warne.
Swann finished the year in third position in the bowlers' category of cricket's official player rankings after his man-of-the-match performance in the second Test against South Africa in Durban.
