NCAC Boy Scouts
Scouting is a great American tradition and has its roots all across the world. There have been millions of members over the years and the BSA has grown into one of the most well known and popular scouting organizations in the country. Why is the BSA so successful? Well its simple. The Boy Scouts provides a plentiful and safe environment for children to learn and grow into adults. There are many educational opportunities for children and there parents to take advantage of, and tons of adventures that make for great fun.
Scouting is more than a bunch of kids getting together and camping out, it is a place for them to create lasting friendships. Scouting makes memories that children never forget. As a former scout I can tell you that I have a lot of fond memories from scouting, from pine wood derbies, to camping out, and to just getting to spend time with my dad, I remember it all. One of the most amazing things to me is that I am still good friends with a lot of the people that were former scouts with me. Me and my friends had tons of fun while we were scouts and I can remember almost every camp out, community service project, and meeting we ever went on.
There are so many opportunities available when it comes to scouting it would be crazy not to at least consider it. Scouting doesn't cost much and wont take up to much of your time. There are meetings once a week where leaders and scouts go over merit badges, camp outs, plan for trips and events. There are usually camping trips once a month with a few community service events and other meetings scattered throughout the year. One of the most exciting events for a scout the you will get to enjoy is the summer camping trip. There are numerous BSA camps through out the country that the troop will get to choose from and these trips will last about a week. Troops all across the country gather to these camps and scouts will get to take part in many great activities and have tons of fun.
I hope you see that there is no reason not to join the scouts. I'm speaking from personal experience that scouting is, put very simply, GREAT! Let you and your child begin making memories of great adventures and find the nearest troop in your community.
