Henry Cecil
Cecil's Jacqueline Quest was denied glory at Newmarket

Henry Cecil hopes Jacqueline Quest can set the record straight in Royal Ascot's Coronation Stakes on Friday.

The filly, trained by Cecil, was relegated into second place in the 1,000 Guineas, despite finishing a nose in front of Special Duty at Newmarket.

She was adjudged to have caused interference, denying jockey Tom Queally his first Classic win.

Cecil believes the Noel Martin-owned daughter of Rock of Gibraltar has progressed since the Guineas.

He said: "Jacqueline Quest is a very good filly, she seems to have improved since Newmarket but we'll have to find out how good she is."

The trainer also saddles Chachamaidee, who will be partnered by Eddie Ahern. The filly won by three quarters of a length at York over the Coronation trip of a mile on her last start in May.

Cecil added: "Chachamaidee is starting to settle a bit better. They are both very well and deserve to be there, so I hope they run very well."

606: DEBATE

In what looks to be a competitive race, three of the first five home from the Irish 1,000 Guineas will take on the Cecil pair.

Godolphin's supplementary entry Anna Salai finished second at the Curragh, Mick Channon's Music Show came third and Aidan O'Brien's fast-finishing Lillie Langtry occupied fifth spot.

Brian Meehan's Lady Of The Desert looked an unlucky loser in the French Guineas and is another to watch.

Sir Michael Stoute's Tabassum looked a very promising filly last year but her campaign this season has been delayed by setbacks and she starts this season in the hottest company.

French raider Evading Tempette was last seen winning the Group Three Premio Regina Elena, the Italian equivalent of the 1000 Guineas, in May.

Barry Hills' Sent From Heaven and Jim Bolger's Gile Na Greine will be out to prove their Newmarket runs were no fluke with Puff, Famous and Electric Feel completing the 13-runner field.
