Murray 6-5 Querrey *
Murray goes for the old drop shot-lob volley routine and gets the 6ft 6in Querrey scampering backwards and forwards - not his strong suit. Another solid hold for the Briton, another interlude while an American man shouts shopping advice.

* Murray 5-5 Querrey
Fair play to Querrey, he gets a slice of luck with a ridiculous net cord but takes full advantage to level things after another fine forehand winner.

From anon via text: "So far today I've managed to be in Nottingham, Hungary, Barcelona and California - quite a few virtual air miles I reckon."

Murray 5-4 Querrey *
Oh yes. A lunging backhand volley takes Murray to 40-0 and within a blink of an eye he's heading to the chair with a 5-4 lead. Querrey pushes his cap back on his head, has a glug of water and tries to work out what just happened.

It's good news for a Briton
* Murray 4-4 Querrey
Poor old Tipsy, he's not having the best of weekends. Things look a little brighter for Murray when Querrey sticks a routine smash into the net to fall 30-40 down. Break point for Murray... and he gets a bit lucky as he doesn't do much with the ball but Querrey smacks a forehand long. Either way, it's all square.

Janko Tipsarevic on Twitter: "From all the things I could have done: get wasted, run, eat like a pig, swim.. I have decided that the best would be if I lose my wedding ring... "

Murray 3-4 Querrey *
Querrey unleashes another of those stinging forehands and has half a chance at 40-30 down but Murray hangs on, which is about all he can do at the moment. The Scot is currently making 73% of first serves, so no complaints there.

* Murray 2-4 Querrey
Querrey powers down his second ace of the day for a love game and he's made a much better start than in his semi-final, where he came back from a set down and 1-5 in the second set tie-break against Janko Tipsarevic, and saved a match point.

HardyWebster on Twitter: "Murray has got to be favourite for this, no? Looking forward to your commentary...got any jokes?!"

Murray 2-3 Querrey *
OK, Murray responds with a quick service game of his own and he needs to get going on the return here.

A celeb has been spotted at Wimbledon
* Murray 1-3 Querrey
Querrey holds serve in a trice, giving us barely enough time to take on board the news that William Shatner is in the crowd. I'm keeping 'em peeled for Spock or the woman with the headset who did the radio. I'm no Trekkie.
* denotes NEXT to serve

Murray 1-2 Querrey *
Murray gives Querrey a look at a forehand and the American crunches a huge one for 15-40 and two break points.. and Murray hooks a backhand into the tramlines to drop serve. A poor start from the Briton and, to make matters worse, the PA is bellowing advertisements at the changeover. It's just not cricket.
* denotes NEXT to serve

* Murray 1-1 Querrey
Querrey looks in a bit of trouble after a woeful forehand drive-volley into the net and what appears to be a double-fault, but Hawkeye comes to his rescue and the American serves out confidently. The tournament is apparently being played on a university campus. It's not like the university I attended.

Murray 1-0 Querrey *
Querrey comes up with a thumping forehand pass on the run for 15-15 and sticks away a smash a couple of points later but Murray holds to 30.

2212: OK, it's been a busy night of athletics in BBC TV Towers, time for a gear change as we focus on men with racquets. It looks like a sultry afternoon in California, Murray to serve...

Andy Murray
2208: In case you missed it, Murray has had quite a week after announcing the end of his two-and-a-half year working relationship with coach Miles Maclagan and heading to LA to take up a surprise wildcard. A first tournament victory of the year would be very welcome and the world number four is the favourite tonight with a 4-0 career record against Querrey, including a win at Wimbledon in June.

2205: Evening all. If you thought the sporting weekend was over, you were mistaken. Andy Murray is about to try and end his title drought in 2010 as he takes on American Sam Querrey in the final of the Farmers Classic in Los Angeles. If those farmers are half as excited as me, it should be quite an atmosphere out there.
