Rizla Suzuki rider Loris Capirossi will be back for Sunday's Japanese MotoGP at Motegi after missing the last race at Aragon following surgery on his hand.

The Italian, 37, injured his right hand at San Marino but is fit for the race which marks Suzuki's 50th anniversary.

"My finger's about 90%, but it is only a finger. I'm totally ready," he said.

"I love Motegi, I've won three times and it'd be amazing to challenge the front guys - especially as it is a big weekend for Suzuki."

This weekend's race is one of three in the Asia-Pacific region over consecutive weekends, with races in Malaysia and Australia to follow.

With five rounds of the championship remaining, Fiat Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo leads the race for the title, 56 points ahead of Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa.

Last time out at Aragon, long-time championship leader Lorenzo failed to finish on the podium for the first time this season, while fellow Spaniard Pedrosa has finished either first or second in seven of the last eight races, with only a failure to finish at the Laguna Seca Grand Prix blotting his record.
