Aussie star's hockey kit goes walkabout to Singapore as he arrives in Delhi

Australian hockey star Jamie Dwyer's Commonwealth Games preparations are in complete disarray after his kit for the competition was lost en route to India.

Dwyer, 31, arrived in Delhi without his hockey equipment which he believes has been sent to Singapore by mistake.

"It's a hassle," he said. "You get used to your stick. My stick is of a different size, it has got a certain weight, a certain grip.

"I have no shoes, no sticks, no mouth guard or shin guards."

Australia begin their Games campaign on Wednesday and three-time player of the year Dwyer admitted his preparations have been affected by the mix-up.

"I think my equipment is still in Singapore. Apparently they are in a shed or a room somewhere," he added on Friday.

"I hope they will come tonight but I've got my wife in Australia to send a couple of sticks and shoes and shin guards just in case I don't get them."
